18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

James 1:18

Faith provides comfort in the chaos, and peace in the midst of struggle.

33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

(1) God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

(2) So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. (3) Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Selah

(4) A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High.

(5) God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. (6) The nations are in chaos, and their kingdoms crumble! God’s voice thunders, and the earth melts!

(7) The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Selah

(8) Come, see the glorious works of the Lord: See how he brings destruction upon the world.

(9) He causes wars to end throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and snaps the spear; he burns the shields with fire.

(10) Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. (11) I will be honored throughout the world. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Salah

Mark 4:39

This is what the great king of Assyria says to king Hezekiah: What are you trusting in that makes you so confident? Do you think that mere words can substitute for military skill and strength? Who are you counting on, that you have rebelled against me?

2 Kings 18:19-20

Don’t listen to Hezekiah! These are the terms the king of Assyria is offering: Make peace with me (meaning bow and worship me) — open the gates and come out. Then each of you can continue eating from your own grapevine and fig tree and drinking from your own well. 32 Then I will arrange to take you to another land like this one—a land of grain and new wine, bread and vineyards, olive groves and honey. The king of Assyria said, Choose life instead of death!

2 Kings 18:31-32

Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. 15 And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. 16 Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to the words the Assyrians sent to ridicule the living God.

2 Kings 19:14-16

17 It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. 18 They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands. 19 Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.

There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before or after his time. 6 He remained faithful to the Lord in everything, and he carefully obeyed all the COMMANDS the Lord had given Moses.sd
