Sermon Talks
- Read Philippians 3:7-22.
- If those who know you were asked, what would they say are some things you are known for? For example: cooking, baking, mechanical things, gardening, etc.
- What are some Biblical examples of Jesus that showed just how personal He is? See Matthew 8, John 4, John 5, John 9:1-12.
- Why is it so important that Jesus calls us by our name, not our sin? How does that speak to forgiveness? How does that speak to our identity?
- Who, or what, are you obedient to?
- Consider performing a 30 day time audit on yourself to see what, or whom, is taking up much of your time.
- Read what Jesus said in Luke 11:28. What is the benefit we get from obeying the Lord?
- How does understanding our identity in Christ give us hope? How, in turn, does that help us run after the cause of Christ.
- The Greek word trech is used in the New Testament approximately 20 times. Do you find yourself advancing speedily, with full effort, towards the directed purpose of pursuing Jesus? Instead, do you find yourself jogging, walking, or not pursuing Him at all?
- How would you fill in the blank in this sentence? My greatest effort has been for but I want to look back on my life and say, with confidence, that my greatest effort was for the cause of Christ.
- Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in a time of prayer.
