Message Notes
Plenty of times, we worry, but use creative ways to make it sound different:
- “I’m just being prepared.”
- Translation: I’m obsessing over what could go wrong so I can feel in control.
- “I’m just thinking ahead.”
- Translation: I’m mentally living in the future because I don’t trust how God will handle it.
- “I’m just being realistic.”
- Translation: I’ve decided fear is wisdom and peace is naïve.
- “I’m just a planner.”
- Translation: If I don’t overanalyze every detail, I won’t feel safe.
- “I’m just trying to be responsible.”
- Translation: I’m carrying burdens God never asked me to carry.
- “I’m just processing things.”
- Translation: I’m rehearsing all the what-ifs in my mind again and again.
- “I’m just trying to stay informed.”
- Translation: I’m doom-scrolling my way into anxiety and calling it awareness.
- “I just care too much.”
- Translation: I confuse worry with love — as if anxiety proves my compassion.
- “Somebody has to think about these things.”
- Translation: If I stop worrying, who will keep the world from falling apart?
- “It’s not worry; it’s just concern.”
- Translation: I’ve baptized my anxiety with a nicer word.
