Grow in Leadership & Faith

June 21, 2026   /   Oasis Community Church

God gives us places to rest, heal, and recover, but He never intended the flat place to become the finish line. As our faith grows, our obedience grows. As our obedience grows, responsibility grows. Leadership is what grows out of mature faith.

Prepared, Not Parked

Deuteronomy 1:6–8; James 1:22; Psalm 84:5–7

God prepared Israel at the mountain, but He did not call them to stay there forever. The mountain had purpose, but the purpose of preparation is movement. In the same way, God may use aseason to heal, teach, strengthen, and stabilize us, but He also calls us to carry what He gave us into the next step ofobedience.

  • Where in your life might you be stronger, healthier, or more stable than before, but still not moving forward in obedience?
  • How does Psalm 84:5–7 help us understand that God’s strength is meant to move us “from strength to strength”?
Dependent, Not Dull

1 Chronicles 14:10–16; Proverbs 3:5–6; Isaiah 30:21

David had experience, authority, and victory, but he still asked God before he moved. When the Philistines came again, David did not assume the same strategy. He inquired again because maturity does not mean we need God less. Experience should deepen dependence, not replace it.

  • Where has experience made you less prayerful?

Courageous, Not Comfortable

Luke 17:5; John 12:42–43; Proverbs 29:25

The apostles asked Jesus, “Increase our faith.” They already had faith, but following Jesus was stretching them. Sometimes the issue is not information; it is the cost of obedience. Growing our faith gives us courage to follow Jesus publicly, not just believe privately.

  • Why does obedience feel harder when it becomes visible to others?
  • How does the fear of man become a snare in everyday life?
  • What would courageous faith look like in your home, friendships, workplace, school, ministry, or relationships?

Leadership Is the Byproduct of Mature Faith

Luke 17:5; 1 Timothy 4:12; Matthew 5:14–16

Leadership is not first about a title, platform, or position. Leadership grows out of mature faith. When faith grows, obedience grows. When obedience grows, responsibility grows and when responsibility grows, your life starts affecting the people around you for the good of others and the glory of God.

  • Who is affected by your obedience right now?
  • What responsibility might God be asking you to steward more faithfully?
