The Five Major Meals of the Bible:
- The Forbidden Meal in the Garden– In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve ate in disobedience to God, choosing to eat with Satan’s word over God’s presence. The meal brought sin and death to all.
- The Passover Meal in Egypt– In Exodus 12, God redeems His people from slavery through the blood of a spotless lamb. That blood, placed on the doorposts, was their salvation. They ate under God’s protection, trusting His deliverance.
- The Last Supper in the Upper Room– Jesus gathers with His disciples the night before the cross. He breaks bread and says, “This is My body.” He lifts the cup and says, “This is My blood.” The Lamb becomes the meal.
- The Lord’s Supper in the Church– After Pentecost, the early believers gather to eat and drink in remembrance of Jesus. We still do it today—not just out of habit, but out of hope.
- The Marriage Supper of the Lamb– In Revelation, history ends with a feast. Jesus returns, His bride—the Church—is gathered, and the table is set. No more sin. No more sorrow. Just joy with the King forever.
