Uncontainable Joy

  1. Nothing is more important than Jesus (v.18)

God takes our difficult circumstance &  transforms obstacles into opportunities. (v.12)

Gospel proclamation…

  • is for the lost. (v. 13; Romans 10:14)
  • fellow believers. (v. 14)
  • reminds us what to . (2 Cor 4:7-10)

  1. Nothing can stop the Gospel from . (vv. 15,17)

God uses imperfect people to proclaim His perfect truth.

  • The unstoppable Gospel humbles us because the kingdom of God is not built by our capacity but by Christ’s power.
  • The unstoppable Gospel liberates us from every excuse not to proclaim Christ.
  • Our job is proclamation; God’s job is transformation.
  • Start proclaiming Christ where you are, not where you wish you were.

Undeniable Joy

“Paul does not complain of his bonds, but rather rejoices that Christ is made known through them. To him, personal circumstances are nothing, the progress of the Gospel is everything.”    -Charles Spurgeon.

Question: What typically determines whether you are joyful or not? How does Paul’s example challenge your usual sources of joy?
