 Casey Zachary  /  July 19, 2026

Because we are anchored in Jesus, God can use our suffering to become the very platform on which we can and our hope in Christ.

Context: Suffering for doing good is not a sign of God’s absence — It is an for His blessing. (vv. 13-14a)

suffering often opens doors for Gospel witness.

Method: Don’t fear people, fear . (vv. 14b-15a)

Readiness begins with before it becomes witness. (v.15)

Always be to explain the hope within us. (v. 15)

Manner: The credibility of our message is strengthened by the of our lives. (vv. 15b-16)

Entrust our souls to Him who rightly. (V. 17; 2:23; 4:19)

Substance: The reason believers can have hope is that Christ’s work has already everything upon which our hope rests. (v. 18)

Vindication: The act of God the Father clearing Christ of all false accusations and demonstrating the truth by proving Christ’s identity as the true son of God.

Reflection Question: If someone watched the way you handled suffering this week, would they see enough hope in your life to ask, “Why?” And if they asked, would you be ready to answer?
