SCRIPTURE

If you are afraid of what people think about you, you will never feel safe. But if you trust in the Lord, He will keep you safe.
Proverbs 29:25

OBSERVATION

(What is this scripture saying?)

When we worry about what others think about us too much, it causes us to always feel insecure and confused. When we put our trust in what God thinks and says about us, we’re safe because His love for us never changes and is always certain.

APPLICATION

(How can I apply this scripture to my life?)

Parents, tell your child(ren):

What God says about you is the most important thing that we should pay attention to! People will say a lot of things even on cool videos and social media, but we have to trust God’s words and His truth!

Ages 4-6:

What is a word that you remember God says about you? (Parents, you may need to help with this. You can say He gives us love, peace, joy, etc.) Parents, have your child draw out the word with crayons, markers, paint, or watercolors and put it up on your refrigerator as a reminder!

Ages 7-9:

Write something false that someone said to you or about you? Then, below it write what God says about you. Whenever you hear something different than that, always remember God’s words are the truth!

PRAYER

(Parents: Have your child repeat this prayer or pray/write their own prayer.)

“Dear God, thank You for keeping us safe and secure with how You see us and with how You feel about us. I don’t need to worry about what other people think because what You say about me matters. You love me, You value me, and You already approve of me. I love You! In Jesus name, amen!
