Mission:

To share the and of Jesus with the and community, so that they too can be reached and set free.

__

What comes into your mind when you think about Evangelism?

__

Two Approaches:

Confrontational / Combat Evangelism

“I see a sinner who needs to be converted.”

Conversational Evangelism

“I see a person God loves, and the most loving thing I can do is share Jesus with them.”

__

Conversational Evangelism

We share story,
to share story,
so others can meet Him too.

__

What Is the Gospel?

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” 1 Cor 15:3-4

__

Why is it so important that we share the gospel?

Romans 10:14 (NLT)

14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

John 14:6

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The Five Gospel Truths:

  1. God you.
  2. Sin you.
  3. Jesus for you.
  4. If you , you will be saved.
  5. There is a party in heaven, and a new creation on earth.

__

  • God Loves You

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

__

(building)

  • Sin separates you.

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

__

  • Jesus died for you.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Corinthians 15:3–4
…Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures…he was buried…(and) he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…

__

  • If you believe, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Eph 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

John 14:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

__

  • There is a party in heaven, and a new creation on earth.

“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” Luke 15:7

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Cor 5:17

__

Conversational Evangelism

We share our story,
to share His story,
so others can meet Him too.

__

Your story has three parts:

  1. This is who I (Acts 26:4-5, :9-11).
  2. This is what (Acts 26:12-18).
  3. This is who I am (Acts 26:19-21).

__

What Is Your Gospel Hook?

A gospel hook is an engaging entry point into your story.

Examples:

“I grew up in the church…”

“I did not grow up around faith…”

“I thought I was a Christian, but…”

“I was invited by a friend…”

__

Paul’s Hook:

Gal 1:13-14

For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

The Six Steps of Conversational Evangelism:

  1. Make a connection.
  2. Share story.
  3. Share story.
  4. the question.
  5. with them.
  6. their step of faith.

__

Ask the Question

Would you like to believe in Jesus and be saved?

__

Pray With Them

A Simple Salvation Prayer

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of being saved.

Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins,

that you were buried, and that you were raised from the dead.

I trust in you, Jesus. Please save my life.”

__
