Don’t Look Back

(Numbers 13:30) “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

(Numbers 14:1-4) That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. 2 All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3 Why is the LORD bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

Miracles after the red sea:

1. There is a cloud that leads them by day and fire by night
2. Undrinkable water that God makes sweet
3. God provides manna from heaven for them to eat
4. Provides Quail for them to eat
5. God provides water from a rock
6. God provides victory over the Amalekites
7. God provides the 10 commandments
8. God provides mercy and grace after they build a golden calf
9.  God’s glory visibly fills the tabernacle
10. They had clothes and shoes that supernaturally didn’t wear out

(Numbers 14:4) they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

(Numbers 14:5) Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there.

(Numbers 14:7) they said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.

1. God has a for your life

(Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2. God is with you and is you

(Numbers 14:8) If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.

(James 1:17) Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

(Matthew 7:11) If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

(Proverbs 3:5-6) Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

(Numbers 14:9) Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

3.

Fear shrinks God

The giants in the land will devour us.

We had it better in Egypt.

The Lord brought us here to die.

 Faith magnifies God

God will devour the giants in the land.

The best days are ahead of us.

The Lord brought us here to thrive.
