THREE THINGS WE GLEAN FROM JESUS:
1.
Mark 1:9 (NIV)At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
John 1:29 (NIV)The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Matthew 3:7 (NIV) John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
Matthew 3:15 (NIV) Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
Isaiah 64:6-7 (NLT)We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. 7 Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy. Therefore, you have turned away from usand turned us overto our sins.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NIV)I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
Hebrews 3:7-8 (NIV)7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,8 do not harden your hearts…
Hebrews 12:14 (NIV)Without holiness no one will see the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Mark 1:9At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Baptism is not from Jesus, it’s with Jesus.
Jesus is His life.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV)I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
2.
Mark 1:10-11 (NIV)10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
(NKJV)”And immediately, coming up out of the water…
Isaiah 64:1-2 (NIV) Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! 2 As when fire sets twigs ablazeand causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemiesand cause the nations to quake before you!
Mark 1:10 (NIV)The Spirit descending on him like a dove.
John 1:32 (NIV)Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.
