Big Topics: Big Answers Giants After the Flood? Pt2

March 26, 2025   /   Findlay First Assembly of God

Texts:

  • Genesis 3:4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
  • Revelation 9:6 And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

I. The Garden of Eden and Transhumanism

From a Christian perspective, the transhumanism project and its goals resonate with the age-old temptation depicted in the Bible.

  1. In the Garden of Eden, Satan deceived Eve by promising that she and Adam would be like God if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3:4-5).
  2. This deception continues today, as efforts to achieve god-like abilities through technology mirror the desire to usurp God’s role.

The desire to become like God is not new.

  1. In Isaiah 14:12-17, we see a depiction of Lucifer’s fall, driven by his desire to ascend and be like the Most High.
  2. This same spirit of rebellion against God’s sovereignty is echoed in the transhumanist ambition to transcend human limitations through technology.

II. The Promise of Eternal Life in the Bible

  1. The Bible clearly teaches that eternal life is a gift from God through Jesus Christ. John 3:16
  2. Human attempts to achieve eternal life through technology are futile and deceptive, echoing Satan’s original lie, “You will not certainly die” (Genesis 3:4).

The World Economic Forum, Claus Schwab, and Harari’s assertion that there is no cosmic drama or divine plan for humanity contradicts the biblical narrative.

Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Christians believe that each person has a purpose within God’s grand design, and our ultimate hope lies in Him, not in technological advancements.

To those who worship science, technology, and self-derived intelligence, this message may sound foolish.

  1.  Unfortunately, they may never heed the warning but instead continue to be enticed by the allures of this world.
    1.  1 Corinthians 1:18-20 reminds us, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
      1. No matter the advances in technology or the promises of new ideologies, God’s wisdom and plan will prevail.

III. Many attributes can be attributed to Christ that cannot be duplicated by man.

  1. They include a sinless earthly life, being all-knowing, all-powerful, present everywhere, and the Creator and Sustainer of all life.
  2. Of course, man can never see himself as being perfect (sinless) or all-powerful, having knowledge of past, present, and future.
  3. However, many do believe we are rapidly moving toward all-knowing with Artificial Intelligence leading the way.
  4.  That is a false expectation as AI will never be allowed to develop even close to that point (another post to come).
  5. 1 Corinthians 15:53 – For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
  6. We have to pass through death to receive our permanent, spiritual bodies.
    1. 1 Corinthians 15:44 – It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

If mankind ever reaches a point where it becomes possible to extend our lives indefinitely, I believe God will stop us as He did in the flood and again in Babel. This time He will bring in the New Heaven and the New Earth, establishing His kingdom for eternity (2 Pet. 3:13).

IV. Modern Stanic Influence on Distortive Imago Dei: Yuval Noah Harari

Yuval Noah Harari, an advisor to Klaus Schwab, has become a prominent voice in discussions about the future of humanity.

In “Homo Deus,” Harari speculates on the future of humanity, suggesting that advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology could lead to humans becoming god-like beings.

This idea aligns with his provocative statement in a forum:

“We don’t have any answer in the Bible on what to do when humans are no longer useful to the economy. You need completely new ideologies, completely new religions, and they are likely to emerge from Silicon Valley or from Bangalore and not from the Middle East. And they are likely to give people visions based on technology. Everything that the old religions promised, happiness and justice and even eternal life, but here on Earth with the help of technology and not after death with the help of some supernatural beings” (Harari, 2018).

The Deception of Eternal Life Through Technology

  1. The transhumanism project aims to merge humans with technology to transcend our biological limitations.
  2. This includes efforts to extend human life, enhance cognitive abilities, and possibly even create life itself.
  3. Transhumanists, including Harari, envision a future where death can be conquered through technological means, suggesting a future where humans can live forever through technological means.

Harari provocatively answers the question, “What are humans for?” According to him:

“As far as we know, for nothing. I mean, there is no great cosmic drama, some great cosmic plan that we have a role to play in it. And we just need to discover what our role is and then play to the best of our ability. This has been the story of all religions and ideologies and so forth, but as a scientist, the best I can say, this is not true. There is no universal drama with a role in it for Homo sapiens. If you repeat a lie often enough, people will think it’s the truth. The bigger the lie, the better. Because people won’t even think that something so big can be a lie. And I think that fake news has been with us for thousands of years. Just think of the Bible” (Harari, 2018).

V. The Nephilim Before the Flood

  • Origins of the Nephilim
    1. The “sons of God – Bena Elohim” and “daughters of men” (Genesis 6:1-4)
    2. Called by Enochian Books, The Watchers
      1. Enoch also mentioned that the watchers taught mankind witchcraft, warcraft, and other destructive arts.
    3. The term “watchers” appears in the book of Daniel, wherein Daniel 4:13, 17, 23,
      1. Nebuchadnezzar describes seeing a “watcher, a holy one” come down from heaven in a dream.
    4. Scholars believe the “watchers, holy ones” may reflect the influence of Babylonian religion.
    5. The “Nephilim” are the offspring of fallen angels, Watchers, and humans.

I Enoch 7:1b Humans are taught magic and other forbidden knowledge: And they taught them charms and spells, and showed them the cutting of roots and trees (i.e., medicine)

If you consider the many megalithic objects placed around the world. They are in perfect alignment with certain stars and built with precision that could not be matched by our tech even today, you discover that the antediluvian humans got a jump start from somewhere.

  • The megalithic stones of Blabec
  • Egyptian Pyramids
  • Yogaguni Monumet Under water Japan
  • Machu Picchu, Peru

This happened after the flood, as well, with the building of the Tower of Babel.

1 Enoch 7:2 And they (=the human women) became pregnant and bore large giants, and their height [was] three thousand cubits. 7:3 These devoured all the toil of men until men were unable to sustain them. 7:4 And the giants turned against them in order to devour men. 7:5 And they began to sin against birds, and against animals, and against reptiles and against fish, and they devoured one another’s flesh and drank the blood from it. 7:6 Then the earth complained about the lawless ones.

  • Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
  • Corruption of the Earth
    1. Widespread wickedness leading to the flood (Genesis 6:5-7)
    2. Genetic contamination of humans.

VI. The response of God is Mercy – The Flood and Its Aftermath

  1. God’s judgment through the flood is an act of mercy that saves humanity and the rest of God’s creation in the Ark.
    • Destruction of all flesh except Noah’s family and the animals in the Ark.
    • Second Peter 2:5 states that all of the ungodly were wiped out in Noah’s flood.
      1. Genesis 7 in multiple verses confirms that indeed all of humanity and all soulish creatures associated with humanity, except for those on board the ark, were killed.
      2. Thus, the Nephilim did not survive the flood catastrophe.

VII. The Ongoing Seed War

    1. Genesis 6:4 reads, “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and also afterward when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.”
    2. Dr. Michael Heiser notes that Genesis 6:4 could be translated: “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days – and also afterward – whenever (not simply when) the sons of God went to the daughters of human beings and had children by them.”
  • Reappearance of the Nephilim
      1. Mention of giants after the flood (Numbers 13:33)
      2. Numbers 13:33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
  • Conquest of Canaan

…..AND ALSO AFTER THAT.

    1. Satan had to attempt to corrupt the genome of the entire human race to prevent the coming of the Messiah (prophesied to be a human descendant of Adam/Eve; Gen 3:15).
      • So he could focus his plan to corrupt the human genome to that of the Jewish race.
      • This is why God told the children of Israel over and over, again and again, to not take wives of foreign nations.
      • The results would be idolatry and contamination of the seed line of the Messiah, who would be born of Mary.
  • Understanding this fact makes God’s command forbidding
    • Intermarriage with,
    • And the command for the utter destruction of the Canaanites, Amorites, and associated tribes dwelling in the Promised Land (cf. Deut 7:1-3),
    • Since they were contaminated like the Nephilim (even the women and children!).
    • God’s command to destroy the tribes in Canaan was for the same reason, and to accomplish the same purpose, as the Flood of Noah;

VIII. Spiritual Implications

  1. The seed war is a metaphor for the ongoing spiritual conflict from Genesis 3:15 on.
    1. Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the woman’s seed, supernaturally given by the Holy Spirit from the Spiritual realm – the incarnation
    2.  This seed produced a holy, unblemished bloodline, without the inherent sinful nature of Adam.
    3. Satan has sought and continues to seek a bloodline that reflects his fallen image in man.
    4. Therefore the seed war is ongoing and will continue in the tribulation period.

IX. The Nephilim and End Times

  1. Some interpretations suggest that the Nephilim could reappear during the end times, based on Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:37: “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man”
  2. In Greek, the words “for as” at the beginning of that verse, mean accordingly and in the same identical manner, and it unmistakably pictures a duplicate event.
  3. The phrase “in the days that were” literally means as they were in the very exact days,
  4. By using this combination of words, Jesus let us know that He was describing regular life in the very exact days directly before the unleashing of the Flood.
    1. THE DAYS OF NOAH. Matthew and Luke both go on to record Jesus as saying, “For as in the days that were before the flood they were . . . marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark” (Matt 24:38; Cp., Luk 17:27).
  5. Business as Usual? Most have understood these words to mean that life in the antediluvian world was entirely normal, even mundane,
    1. The problem with such an understanding is that the Genesis 6 account of the conditions that set the stage for the Flood of Noah does not describe a normal, ordinary, mundane scenario.
    2. The context found there for God judging the entire world with a Flood that destroyed all but eight persons is “that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all whom they chose” (Gen 6:2)
      1. Note that Jesus’ words made specific mention of “marriage” and “giving in marriage” (Matt 24:38).
    3. Ancient Jewish and early Christian commentators uniformly understood “the sons of God” to be a reference to angels (Cp., Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:6),
  6. So widespread was this angelic activity that it threatened to utterly corrupt the human race, making the prophesied coming of the Messiah to redeem mankind moot.
  7. It was for this reason that God destroyed all flesh in the Flood (Gen 6:17),
    1. And called the Children of Israel to wipe out the Canaanites and the Giants in the promised land.
    2. To save Noah, who was “perfect in his generations” (i.e., genetically uncorrupted; Gen 6:9), and to imprison those fallen angels that had participated in this diabolical plan.
      1. 2 Pet 2:4-5; Jude 6-7
  1. THE FUTURE SEED OF THE SERPENT.
  1. The very first prophecy recorded in the Bible is Genesis 3:15. God declared, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”.
  2. This verse prophesies the coming of two persons:
    1. 1) the seed of the woman, which is Christ,
    2. and 2) the seed of the serpent, which will be the Antichrist.
      1. When Christ came, he was genetically a unique mixture of divine seed with a human egg, the Son of Man and the Son of God, God-man, Hypostatic Union:
      2. Similarly, when the Antichrist comes, he will be a genetic mixture of Satan’s angelic seed with a human seed, a Nephilim. ( fallen one )
        1. It is for this reason that both Daniel and Revelation refer to Antichrist as “the beast”, for he will not be (entirely) human.
        2. Also, 2 Thessalonians 2:3 calls him the “son of perdition”
          1.  The word perdition means “eternal damnation” or “utter destruction.” It can also be used as a synonym for hell.
        3. When a person is called the “son of perdition,” is in an unredeemable state, someone who is already damned while he is still alive. ( Unredeemable like the spirits of the Nephilim are disembodied demons doomed for hell)
  1. Daniel’s Prophecy and “Mingling of Seed”
  2. Daniel 2:43 has a cryptic reference to “mingling with the seed of men”
    1. Some interpreters connect this passage to the potential return of Nephilim:
    2. Iron and Clay: The passage describes a kingdom, suggesting an unnatural or unstable combination.
  1. Potential Nephilim Connection: Some speculative interpretations suggest that the “they” who mingle with the “seed of men” could refer to non-human entities, possibly fallen angels or their offspring
  2. The Anti-Christ will be one of them and will be the seed of the serpent – mimicking and imitating Jesus in every way
    1. World Leader: Savior of the World, Prince of Peace
    2. Resurrection – A head wound, received from an apparent fatal wound.
    3. Signs and wonders: The Antichrist will perform miracles and signs to deceive people.
    4. Worship: The Antichrist will try to get people to worship him as the Messiah.
  3. Thus, when Daniel prophesies that these ten angelic principalities will “mingle themselves with the seed of men” (Dan 2:43),
  1. He is talking about yet another incursion of angels upon the earth to produce Nephilim, including, but not limited to, the Antichrist.

Remind you that angels can and do have corporality: They were offered food by Abraham, and the wicked people of Sodom and Gomorrah sought to sleep with them. The Bible warns us to be careful to care for strangers because many have entertained angels unaware.

1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

When we by faith receive the blood of Jesus.

  • His body and His blood sustain us and conform us to the image of the Son.
  • We depend on His life-giving blood as in him we live and move and have our being.
  • Apart from Him, we can do nothing!
  • His Super is connected with our Natural, and we have supernatural living.
  • Our flesh dies, our mind is renewed by the word, our Spirit lives because he lives!

The great red dragon of Revelation 12:3 sported “seven diadems” on his “seven heads” to convey his sense of (would be) kingship.

  • Seven probably represents a false lie of “complete” authority on Earth.
  • His first sidekick, the beast from the sea, had “ten diadems on its [ten] horns” (Revelation 13:1).
    • This will be from 10 kingdoms giving their power to the antichrist
    • These ten kings will be hybrids – like the Nephilim (fallen ones)- and so will the antichrist.  (called man of sin, son of perdition, or hell)
    • And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another. (Dan 2:43),
      • He is talking about yet another incursion of angels upon the earth to produce Nephilim, including, but not limited to, the Antichrist.
      • Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the Nephilim and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.
      • Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same
  • became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
    • The Flood, Children of Israel, and the Second Coming destroy them as an infestation and abominable contamination of the image of God.
  • Allow me to remind you that angels can and do have corporality:
  • Gen. 18, They were offered food ( bread, butter, milk, and a roasted calf)  by Abraham.
  • Genesis 19, The wicked people of Sodom and Gomorrah sought to sleep with them.
  • Heb. 13:2 The Bible warns us to be careful to care for strangers because many have entertained angels unaware.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
