Established and Strong 1Kings 7:15-22
January 29, 2025 / Feather Sound Church1Kings 7: 15-22
INTRODUCTION:
- Our last time in 1Kings we learned about an ordinary man that ended up taking his ordinary for extraordinary things.
- The fact that God is the giver or all gifts, natural and spiritual. He is the author of the combination of those gifts for the stated purpose, “created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10 (CSB).
- This week we will look at this man’s first building project; two pillars.
SCENE 1: Established and

- They did not have a structural purpose but were placed near the entry and markers.
- They had names.
- 27 feet tall and 4 feet in diameter.
- JACHIN
- Means, “He will ”.
When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. — 2 Samuel 7:12-13 (CSB)
- This choice was a reminder of the fulfillment of a past promise.
- We live in a time of foreshadowing. Jesus promised this in the first mention of the church in the New Testament.
Jesus responded, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.” — Matthew 16:17-19 (CSB)
- Just like ancient Israel, we to await the time of a greater future fulfillment.
Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice he judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military commanders, the flesh of the mighty, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”
Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army. But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with it the false prophet, who had performed the signs in its presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh. — Revelation 19:11-21 (CSB)
- BOAZ
- Means, “in your strength”.
- This was the name of King Solomon’s great, great grandfather.
- We are introduced to him as the “kinsman redeemer” in Ruth.
Now Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side. He was a prominent man of noble character from Elimelech’s family. His name was Boaz. — Ruth 2:1 (CSB)
- A great compliment to the name of the first pillar. Any Kingdom establishing will always require us to operate in His strength.
Lord, the king finds joy in your strength. — Psalms 21:1 (CSB)
Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint. — Isaiah 40:30-31 (CSB)
For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. — Colossians 1:9-12 (CSB)
EMERALD CITY:
- The ongoing work of establishing the Kingdom of God on earth is always centered in God given .
At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone deserted me. May it not be counted against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that I might fully preach the word and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil work and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. Erastus has remained at Corinth; I left Trophimus sick at Miletus. Make every effort to come before winter. Eubulus greets you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers and sisters. The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you all — 2 Timothy 4:16-22 (CSB)
- Some Kingdom establishing can only be accomplished in the strength to .
- Acts 7
- Could it be there would be no Saul without Stephen’s suffering?
- If you are here and you are in the middle of some type of suffering, ask for God’s .
- In the end no one stood up for Paul. He saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. Jesus will always stand for us.
