Summer Mix – Week 5

“The Way Out”

Psalm 34:6-This poor man called, and the Lord heard him, He saved him out of all his troubles.

Psalm 34:17 – The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.

Psalm 34:19 – The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lorddelivers him from them all

1 Cor 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

We miss God’s way out because:

We don’t recognize God’s answers to our prayers

Isaiah 55:8-9: 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.  9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your way and my thoughts than your thoughts.

1 Corinthians 1:25 – “For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

We don’t recognize God’s way out that God Himself provides

We know about God, but we don’t know God

Psalm 27:8  My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek

We become too comfortable in our troubles

We think our way out is the same as everyone else

KEY THOUGHT: When we look in the Bible to see how God delivers, we can see that God’s way out is through

Benefits of Going Through

It’s the place where we build a new foundation based on kingdom principles

Colossians 3:9-10 – 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

It’s the place where we build our faith

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It’s the place where we learn to be doers of God’s word and not just hearers only

It’s the place where we overcome

Revelations 12:11 – They overcame him (the accuser) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony

It’s the place where we possess the victory God has already given us

1 Corinthians 15:57 – thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ
