Immanuel
God With Us

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”-A. W. Tozer

√ God us, whom we call Father.

(Romans 8:31) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?(MULTILINE)

Evidence  that God is For Us:

1. God will certainly give you everything you need.

(Romans 8:32) He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

2.  No one can bring a charge against you and win the case.

(Romans 8:33) Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

3. No one can condemn you.

(Romans 8:34) Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

4.  Nothing will separate us from the love of Christ.

(Romans 8:35–39) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.(MULTILINE)

√ God us, whom we call Jesus.

(Matthew 1:22–23) All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Why was the incarnation necessary?

1. To reveal God’s nature to us.

(John 14:9) Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father…

2. To accomplish the work of atonement

(Hebrews 2:17) For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

3. To model humanity and holiness together.

(1 Peter 2:21) To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

4. To sympathize with our weaknesses.

(Hebrews 4:15–16) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.(MULTILINE)

√ God us, whom we call Holy Spirit.

(John 14:16–17 ESV) And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.(MULTILINE)
