The first act of God’s creation was in the words “Let there be light,” and when St. Paul describes what the coming of Jesus means, he says that the God who said “let light shine out of darkness” has shone in our heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 4:6)..[Jesus] is the bearer both of life and of light, and the two are not to be separated, for the life of God is also the light of truth… But human life is not just the story of life and light. There is also death and darkness. But the light shines in the darkness. We know that there is darkness only when we look away from the light. The light does not eliminate the darkness, but it goes on shining.

TAKE ACTION!
What practical applications can we take from this heading into the new week?
I. Live as Light-Bearers: Just as Jesus is the light of the world, He calls us to shine in the darkness (Matthew 5:14-16). How can you reflect Christ’s light in your workplace, school, or home?
II. Embrace Grace: Stop striving to earn God’s favor. Instead, rest in the “grace upon grace” that Jesus freely offers. Let this grace empower you to extend forgiveness to others.
III. Seek Intimacy with God: The Word became flesh so we could know God personally. Spend time in Scripture and prayer, drawing near the One who dwelt among us.
IV. Share the Good News: The Word who became flesh is still at work, transforming lives. Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus? Pray for opportunities to share His love.
