Peace of Mind – Week 3
April 26, 2026 / Pastor Jim Grimm / Desert Springs ChurchIsaiah 26:3,4 3
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
Guilt and shame Jesus does not want you to carry anymore.
Luke 4:16-20
He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor.
These verses define His ministry
Romans 8:6
Jesus wants to heal you and set you free from the shame and guilt that is keeping you in bondage in your head.
The mind controlled by the flesh is death, but the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace
Mental health, emotional health and spiritual health are intertwined. You can’t separate them
In all of Gods immense creation you are His most valued possession.
The goal is to get to the point that what you are feeling, the negative thoughts, the self-condemnation in your mind is overruled by what you know to be true.
Guilt relates to what you have done (actions), while shame relates to who you believe you are (identity).
You have immense value to God. That is your identity!
