Four proper responses to the truth of God’s saving plans for Jews and Gentiles:
- We should not be uninformed about God’s saving plans (v. 25a)
- We should be humbled by the knowledge of God’s saving plans (v. 25b)
- We should seek to understand the details of God’s saving plans (vv. 25c-28)
- Two distinct ethnic groups are targeted for the same salvation: Israel and the Gentiles (v. 25c)
- Ethnic Israel has been largely hardened until the spiritual harvest of Gentiles has been brought in (v. 25c)
- Once the fullness of the Gentile salvation has been realized, the vast majority of the end-time generation of ethnic Israel will be saved (v. 26-27)
- Ethnic Israel currently has a unique dual status: they are enemies of the gospel, and yet they are beloved for the sake of the promise made to the fathers (v. 28)
- We should rejoice in the irrevocable certainty of God’s saving plans (v. 29)
