Recite: I am not common… I am chosen… I am not random… I am redeemed… God formed me… God knows me… I am set apart… I am built different!

Before you had a name, God had a plan. Before you had a voice, God spoke over you. Before you took your first breath, Heaven drafted your blueprint. You are not random! Not replaceable! Not forgotten! You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You weren’t created to conform — you were designed to disrupt!

New Series: Built Different – Called to Stand Out!

Ever hear: “You’re Just Different”

We hear things like..

  • Don’t “fit in” – Outsider.
  • Feel disconnected. Not part of the group
  • unexplainable uniqueness
  • It’s not a flaw — it’s your favor!

Believers Were Never Meant to Fit In

1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

  • Peter writing to believers across Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey).
  • Converts with no importance, influence, or power living in a hostile, pagan culture.

“Chosen” Not an afterthought; God selected you to be part of His family.

“Special possession” Treasured, Purchased at the cost of Christ’s blood.

Your identity (who you are) is not defined by the culture — it’s defined by your relationship with Jesus!

  • identity before activity: Peter tells us who we are before telling us what to do.

We need to realize who we really are before learning what to do.

Paul Explains to Titus

Titus 2:14 (KJV)

  • Not “weird”
  • Greek:  “marked as His own.”

Jesus didn’t just save us from something — He saved us for something.

God Didn’t Just Create You — He Crafted You

Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

  • You were not cloned!
  • No one else like you  One of a kind
  • Ever hear of DNA??

Your DNA Is Heaven’s Signature in You

  • 37 trillion cells: In human body
  • Each cell has a strand of DNA 3.2 billion letters long.
  • Perfect Passwords  virtually un hackable

Length: 16 character

  • Mix Uppercase & Lower letters; Numbers (0–9), Special characters: ! @, # $ %
  • No common words, names, or patterns.
  • Completely random

  • God went far beyond!!
  • 100 billion humans in history.
  • No one has your exact DNA.

God designed your DNA to be a unique QR Code of divine identity. He hardwired your passions, your instincts, your strengths, even your quirks — because there’s an opportunity in the Kingdom only you can do.

  • You’re A specific build for a specific battle.
  • You’re a specific voice for a specific generation.
  • You’re a specific fingerprint to leave a specific mark.

God Built us Different; with a divine identity and a call to embrace a divine opportunity

  • Remember: God tells us who we are before telling us what to do.
  • Identity before Activity.

Today’s Message: Set Apart by Design – For A Divine Opportunity!

Before anything else we are called to stand out and be different!

Your divine identity (who you are) gives birth to a divine opportunity.

  • Identity then Activate!

Example: Jeremiah

  • God talking to Jeremiah!
  • Called during national crisis and spiritual decline (late 7th century B.C.). Judah was turning from God, and Babylonian exile was looming.
  • Calling doesn’t start with human qualification — it begins with a divine identity then a divine opportunity.
  • Jeremiah was Built for this!

Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

  • Pro-life argument

“Before I formed you in the womb”

Hebrew: Formed shaped like a potter

Same Hebrew Formed: Genesis 2:7

Genesis 2:7 (NIV)

  • God shaped you inside before your outside even showed up!
  • hand-crafted, not mass-produced.

Society wants to label you; but heaven has already named you. Before they judged your character God ordained your greatness.

“I knew you”

Hebrew: Know intimately & relationally, through a covenant.

  • Covenant: Promise of relationship, trust, and accountability.

You were known by God before you were ever seen by anyone.

“I set you apart”

Hebrew: Sanctified, Refined, and Approved for Kingdom use.

God placed a spiritual reservation on Jeremiah’s life before his body ever entered the earth.

  • Not about perfection — about possession and opportunity.

Being “built different” means you are not for common use. Being “set apart” means you’re designed for a Kingdom purpose. So, your calling isn’t accidental, it was assigned, and it likely exceeds your comfort zone.

You’re a Masterpiece with a Mission!

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

  • Paul writes to Church of Ephesus.
  • “Handiwork” Greek poiēma  a work of art..

God Invitates Everyone

1 Timothy 2:4

1 Peter 1:2 (NIV)

  • Peter writing to believers across Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey).

God calls every person into a relationship with Him (Identity) before he activates your calling, your mission, your opportunity!

God sets the table. He opens the door. He makes the way. But He will never force the choice.

Being Set Apart is an Ongoing Choice

Romans 12:1–2

  • Every day, you choose: conformed or consecrated?

God’s design doesn’t expire — but your opportunity to walk in it can be missed.”

You Were Designed for More — But You Must Step Into It!

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

Being “set apart” isn’t just a status; it’s an open door into the life you were made for. Church, you can live common, or you can live consecrated — but not both. Your design contains your destiny, but it requires your decision.

“The door is open. The call is going out. The invitation has your name on it; but only you can say yes. Don’t walk away from the opportunity of a lifetime — to be known, loved, transformed, and used by God.”

Declaration

“I’m not who the world says I am. I’m not stuck where I’ve been. I’m not too far, too broken, or too late. God has opened the door of opportunity for me and I’m stepping into His design. I am set apart — by His invitation and by my decision!
