SERVE: Love God
October 26, 2025 / Cornerstone Global Methodist ChurchScripture reading: Mark 12:28-31
SAY WHAT?
DO WHAT?
Intellectual answer to the “Problem of Evil”:
- Life is a training ground, sorting time, with implications…so it’s difficult, like Special Forces training!
- To have the maximum possibility for maximum , we also have to have the maximum amount of possible .
Paul said about the giving of the Macedonian Christians, who had little wealth but their encounter with God made them want to give to help suffering Christians in Jerusalem:
And they our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. – 2 Cor. 8:5
NOW WHAT?
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
- Do you love God? If so, why? And if so, can people tell – and if so, how can they tell?
- Is there another or a better way to answer the ‘problem of evil’ (or ‘theodicy’) than how Nathan answered it in the sermon?
- How has God blessed you?
- What’s your first priority when you get your financial checks?
- What does your handling of your money currently communicate to God that you love and care about?
- Does God love you – like, REALLY love you? How do you know? Do you ever feel that love?
- How are you communicating that you love God?
- If you wanted to be more systematic and intentional and generous in your use of money, what would you do?
- How does your use of money show that you love God?
- What parts of the renovation project connect best to the idea of loving God?
