Postures of the Heart

April 6, 2025   /   Bridge Bible Church

Luke 18:9-14

Two Postures:

  • : “I am better than you” – which leads to belittling and strife.
  • : “God, have mercy on me, a sinner” which leads to understanding, mercy, and peace.

Offer G.R.A.C.E.

– G: others the chance to   (James 1:19-20)

– R: the from your own eye.  (Matthew 7:3, 5)

– A: pursue (Matthew 5:23-24)

– C: judgment of to God. (Matthew 7:1)

– E: Extend (Ephesians 4:32)

Big Idea:

In a divided world, we are called to a posture of —’God, have mercy on me, a sinner,’ not a posture of – ‘I thank you God that I am not like them.’ Justified by His grace alone, not by comparison to others, we are free to extend true understanding, mercy, and peace.
