How can the leaving of Jesus be better than the staying of Jesus?
Three HINTS about what changes when Jesus goes to The Father.
12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12 ESV
Hint #1: Works will be GREATER
Because Jesus went to the Father, believers do greater works.
13 “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14 ESV

Hint #2: Prayers will be ANSWERED
Because Jesus went to the Father, believers have answered prayer.
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15 ESV

1. Jesus is going to make a REQUEST of The Father.

2. The Father is going to ANSWER with a gift.
“and he will give you another Helper,” John 14:16b
If there is “another” Helper, does that mean there is a “prior?”

3. The “another” Helper/Advocate will be PERMANENT.

5. We must first KNOW the “prior” Helper/Advocate before we can know “another” Helper/Advocate.
