The Generosity of God

 

What is a Value?

A person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life.

 

Let this and our other values that have and will be taught change the way you think and walk with the Lord. They are principles for your growth and wholeness.

 

Generosity:

The quality of being generous; spending freely in principle; a disposition to give liberally or bestow favors; Liberality in action; bounty. Nobleness of soul;

 

God is generous in everything he does. Look around at what he has made.

 

(1) Generosity began with God’s Love. – We follow His example.

 

We must give and do with loving people in mind because God’s heart is for people.

 

‘We love, because He first loved us.’

1 John 4:19

 

‘For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.’

John 3:16

 

‘He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give
us all things? ‘

Romans 8:32

 

Consider the kind of extravagant love the Father has lavished on us—He calls us children of God! It’s true; we are His
beloved children.

1 John 3:1

 

‘But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole (shalom). He was whipped so we could be healed.’

Isaiah 53:5

 

‘Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

What Did God Give Us?

• Everything.
• Adoption as sons & daughters.
• Healing and wholeness in the work of the cross: Therefore, generosity should come out in everything we do.

to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. ‘

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Mercy

oiktirmōn (oyk-ti’-er-mon) 

is the outward manifestation of pity; it assumes need on the part of him who receives it, and resources adequate to meet the need on the part of him who shows it.

 

Judge

krino (kree’ no)

to pronounce an opinion concerning right and wrong.

 

Condemn

katadikazō (ka-ta-di kadzo’)

to give judgment against (one), to pronounce guilty

 

Pardon

apolyō (ap-o-loo’-o)

to set free, to let go, to detain no longer.

 

Give

to give something to that person’s advantage

 

This is the Principle of Giving: For by your standard of measure, it will be measured back to you in return.

Gratitude of the heart must be attached to our gift, or it is worthless to God. – Don’t be a pharisee.

 

‘Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness! Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside? So, clean the inside by giving gifts to the poor, and you will be clean all over. “What sorrow awaits you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even thetiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things. ‘

Luke 11:39-42

 

6 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

“Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money.” (selah)

“Many rich people put in large amounts. Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.”

“Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Faith is the factor that dethrones Mammon!

 

‘Here’s my point. A stingy Sower will reap a meager harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest. 7.Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! 8. Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything —every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.

9.Just as the Scriptures say about the one who trusts in him. Because he has sown extravagantly and given to the poor, his kindness and generous deeds will never be forgotten. 10. “This generous God who supplies abundant seed for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you. First, he supplies every need, plus more. Then he multiplies the seed as you sow it, so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.

11.You will be abundantly enriched in every way as you give generously on every occasion, for when we take your gifts to those in need, it causes many to give thanks to God. 12. The priestly ministry you are providing through your offering not only supplies what is lacking for God’s people, it inspires an outpouring of praises and thanksgiving to God himself. “

God speaks to Elijah ‘“Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” ‘

‘“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me and then make something for yourself and your son. “One gives freely yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give and only suffers want”.25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

Fear and faith prophesy our future. Who are you going to listen to?

 

‘ “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy (generous), your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy (stingy), your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!’

The currency of Heaven is Faith, followed by radical obedience. This is the thing that brings about miracles.

‘And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine. Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered. ‘

The purpose of the tithe is establishing who is Master. The only reason for meeting with Melchizedek was to acknowledge the actions of the God Most High and that he WAS God, Most High.

 

‘The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give back my people who were captured. But you may keep for yourself all the goods you have recovered.” Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I solemnly swear to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, that I will not take so much as a single thread or sandal thong from what belongs to you. Otherwise, you might say, ‘I am the one who made Abram rich.’ I will accept only what my young warriors have already eaten, and I request that you give a fair share of the goods to my allies—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre.”’

Endurance

JAMES 1

(1) This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing to the “twelve tribes”—Jewish believers scattered abroad. Greetings! (2) Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. (3) For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (4) So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. (5) you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (6) But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. (7) Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. (8) Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. (9) Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. The character trait of endurance is what moves each of us forward when things get tough. 

 

ENDURANCE

the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.

 

Every disciple must endure because endurance is the pathway that leads to authentic spiritual maturity.

James cared more about his assignment in the Earth than he did his status in the Earth.

 

(13) But those people who keep their faith [endure; stand firm; persevere]until the end will be saved.

James 1:2

 

(3) For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. (4) So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Endurance is the pathway that leads to authentic spiritual maturity.

Our Values: Forgiveness

 

When we stop forgiving, we stop spiritually growing.

We vale forgiveness. There is no spiritual growth without forgiveness.

 

Jesus taught us to pray to the Father, Forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses.

Matthew 6:12

 

Unforgiveness is usually the result of ungodly pride and self-righteousness.

 

FORGIVENESS brings heaven down. UNFORGIVENESS brings hell up.

 

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, I, God, will take revenge. I will pay them back. 20 If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in us.

If we look through natural eyes, we will have a carnal perspective and we will miss the great value of what the favor of God is producing in our lives.

 

5 And one night they both dreamed—the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison—each his own dream, and each dream with its own interpretation. 6 When Joseph came to them in the morning, he saw that they were troubled. 7 So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in custody in his master’s house, “Why are your faces downcast today?” 8 They said to him, “We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”

It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives. 6 This famine that has ravaged the land for two years will last five more years, and there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 7 God has sent me ahead of you to establish you as a remnant and to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors. 8 So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh—the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt.

17 Please forgive your brothers for the great wrong they did to you—for their sin in treating you so cruelly.’ So we, the servants of the God of your father, beg you to forgive our sin.” When Joseph received the message, he broke down and wept. 18 Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said. 19 But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. 21 No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.

What Is WC Connect?

Wellspring Connect is how we develop people into spiritual maturity through daily personal encounters with God, so we can connect with God, hear His voice, and seek His presence first in all areas of our lives.

Through Wellspring Connect, you will learn more about our culture through some short videos. The next step is taking a few assessments that will give you insight into what your spiritual gifts are and how you best connect with God in your daily personal encounters. There is only one way to God, and it’s through Jesus — but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God.

Our Story

Chad and Erin met in Daytona Beach, FL in 2002 in a very unexpected place. Their lives were filled with hurt from years of brokenness and disappointment. But what the enemy meant for evil, God has made good. When God brought Chad and Erin together, it was the beginning of a transformation that would change the trajectory of their lives. God began to heal all the broken places in their hearts, and in June of 2007, Chad and Erin were married.

In late 2008, Chad and Erin stepped into full-time ministry as worship pastors in the local church.  During this time, God began cultivating and preparing them for the calling God placed on their lives. After 13-plus years of full-time ministry serving as worship pastors and directors of a leadership internship program, God closed the door on that chapter of their lives to prepare them for what was next.

In early 2021, God began to speak to Chad about planting a church in their hometown of Lake City, FL. This was not something they were expecting, but knew that it was God ordained. In the spring of 2021, Chad and Erin began preparing and getting things in order to announce the plant of Wellspring Church.

God has been doing a mighty work and has continually blessed every step of faith that they have made as they engage in this new journey of their lives.

Their heart for the community is to see people have a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. Equip the Body of Christ for His service. Empower believers to walk out the purpose of their lives, and Engage a lost people, leading them into the loving arms of our Savior.

They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Joshua Chapter 1

 

(1) We Must Be

 

(6) Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. (7) Only be strong and very courageous,

Bravery for the believer is based upon our to the who has all strength.

 

(5) No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

(7) Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

(8) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. FOR THEN you will make your way prosperous, AND THEN you will have good success.
