TRUTH & FAITH > MY FEELINGS
CLARITY IN THE CHAOS – Part 4

Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. – Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT)
THE ENEMIES OF TRUTH:
I.
1. FEAR CAUSES US TO TRUTH.
And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. – John 3:19–20 (NLT)
2. FEAR DISTORTS OUR OF REALITY.
 
3. FEAR KEEPS US FROM THE TRUTH.
Many people did believe in him, however, including some of the Jewish leaders. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. For they loved human praise more than the praise of God. – John 12:42–43 (NLT)
 
4. FEAR FAITH.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
II. OUR
1. BECAUSE FEELINGS ARE UNSTABLE AND TEMPORARY THEY CAN .
The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? – Jeremiah 17:9 (NLT)
2. FEELINGS LEAD TO THAT CAN BE MISLEADING.
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. – Proverbs 14:12 (NIV)
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” – John 8:31-32 (NLT)
III.
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. – John 8:44 (NLT)
 
HOW CAN WE LIVE BY FAITH AND NOT OUR FEELINGS?
1. I MY MIND WITH SCRIPTURE.
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. – Romans 12:2 (NIV)
2. I TRUTH OVER MY FEELINGS.
I will never fail you. I will never abandon you. – Hebrews 13:5 (NLT)
3. I EVERYTHING WITH SCRIPTURE.
…they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. – Acts 17:11 (NIV)
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. – 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NLT)
 
4. I MY MIND TO THINK TRUTH.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. – Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
