STORY OF NOAH – Genesis 6-9

The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the LORD was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the LORD said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” But Noah found favor with the LORD. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. Genesis 6:5-9 (NLT)

Characteristics of Noah that I can identify with:

The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

What Noah did NOT do:
• Noah did not
• Noah did not demand an .

…on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights. Genesis 7:11-12 (NIV)

…Noah…walked in close fellowship with God… Genesis 6:9b (NLT)

Noah trusted God because he knew God.

3. Noah was a messenger of to a dark world.

And during Noah’s time, God did not have pity on the ungodly people of the world. He destroyed them with a flood, though he did save eight people, including Noah, who preached the truth. 2 Peter 2:5 (CEV)

• Noah did not around him.

The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. Genesis 6:5 (NIV)

4. Noah God.

Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose. Genesis 8:20 (NLT)

Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth…When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”
Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”
Genesis 9:12-13,16-17 (NLT)

Can I trust God when the world is crumbling around me?
