To parent the next generation with purpose, we need to …
1. … prepare them for .
Jesus became wiser and grew physically. People liked him, and he pleased God. – Luke 2:52 (NCV)

… a man shall leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. – Genesis 2:24 (NIV)

2. … provide .
You protect the poor; you protect the helpless when they are in danger. You are like a shelter from storms, like shade that protects them from the heat. The cruel people attack like a rainstorm beating against the wall… – Isaiah 25:4 (NCV)

3. … put up .    
Fathers don’t aggravate your children. If you do, they will become discouraged and quit trying. – Colossians 3:21 (NLT)

4. … practice .
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)

A student is not better than the teacher, but the student who has been fully trained will be like the teacher. – Luke 6:40 (NCV)
