I BECOME A NEW ME
WHY THE RESURRECTION MATTERS – Part 2
Vernon Zook April 19, 2026
Jesus died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them…This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! – 2 Corinthians 5:15 & 17 (NLT)
BECOMING A DIFFERENT PERSON MEANS I GET A NEW  AND A NEW .

MY IDENTITY NEEDS TO BE BASED ON .

• Truth comes from the One who me and  me the best!
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are. – 1 John 3:1a (NLT)

1. GOD CALLS ME .
For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we will share his treasures — for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. – Romans 8:16-17 (NLT)
…O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” – Isaiah 43:1 (NLT)

2. GOD GIVES ME A .
You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness—righteous, holy, and true. – Ephesians 4:24 (NLT)
● We are no longer ; we are .
To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours… – 1 Corinthians 1:2 (ESV)
Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. – 1 Corinthians 6:11 (NLT)

3. GOD GIVES ME A .
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. -Philippians 3:20 (NLT)
…for God bought you with a high price. -1 Corinthians 6:20a (NLT)

4. MY NEW LIFE REQUIRES A .
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” – John 3:3 (NLT)

THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE DEATH ANDRESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST.
THAT’S WHY THE RESURRECTION MATTERS!
