April 26, 2026 / Ninevah Christian ChurchSermon Outline for “The Danger of Erosion”
Romans 12:1-2 1“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. 2Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1a Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God,
- Verse 1a is the of commitment. Why should we do what Paul is instructing here. It is because of the mercy of God that we have received.
- In Romans chapter 11 verse 30 Paul tells us, “Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience”
Romans 12:1b I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.
- 1b is the of the commitment. Because of God’s mercy we should present our lives as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, our spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12:2a Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
- 2a is the of the commitment to not conform to this world but be transformed by constantly renewing our minds by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 12:2b so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
- 2b is the of the commitment. By doing so we can look at things and see in them what will please God in accordance to His perfect will, not our will.
