Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV) “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV) I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians

What Does Under The Yoke Mean? …

  1. Forced as slaves to make bricks.

You feel .

John 8:34-35 (CSB) Jesus responded, “Truly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.

  1. The murder of babies.

You feel .

  1. Requiring them to collect their own straw.

You feel .

John 10:10 (CSB) A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

Romans 8:11 (CSB) And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.

We aren’t just supposed to Easter; we are to an Easter.

1 Peter 1:3-4 (CSB) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV) I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians

The very first thing God wants to do for you is bring you out so you many .

How did we ?

How do we ?
If that’s God’s first promise then what is my role?

  1. Make the move.
    .

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (CSB) Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you. 18 And I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.

  1. Let it go.
    .

Mark 8:34-35 (CSB) “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me and the gospel will save it.

  1. Commit your life.

Romans 6:19 (CSB) Just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification.

  1. Commit your life.
    .

    A. I’m already in a real relationship with Jesus.
    B. I’m beginning a real relationship with God today.
    C. I’d like to consider it a bit more first.
    D. I don’t ever intend on making this decision.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (CSB) For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
