Pastor Mark England
Diversity Church was created to answer the question many Christians are asking and that is… “.”
More than 3,000 years ago, God made some promises to the Israelites in Egypt. And those promises continue to stand at the heart of everything He wants to do in your life today.
2 Peter 1:4 (CSB) By these (God) has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.
Promise: an with a result.
Joshua 21:45 (CSB) None of the good promises the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed. Everything was fulfilled.
Hebrews 6:17-18 (CSB) Because God wanted to show his unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.
- I need to His promises.
1 Chronicles 17:19 (CSB) Lord, you have done this whole great thing, making known all these great promises for the sake of your servant and according to your will.
Read your every day! When life doesn’t make sense, you need to hold on to the promises of God and they are found in His !
- I need to His promises.
Numbers 23:19 (NLT) God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
If you think “yeah” I can think of times God hasn’t carried through with His promises.
You think this because you don’t .
Four things to know about God’s promises.
1. When God makes a , you can’t change His . They are .
You cannot sin enough to keep Him from wanting to fulfill them in your life!
2. They aren’t only unconditional but also . His promises have a premise and a role that play in it. Example: Walking in a right with God
3. God’s promises always require . Get used to it. God wants you to depend on Him and trust Him because that will make you very close to Him!
Hebrews 11:6 (CSB) Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
4. God’s promises are done and in .
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV) For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
- I need to His promises.
Psalm 119:140 (NIV) Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
Psalm 119:148 (CSB) I am awake through each watch of the night to meditate on your promise.
Promise
Pra/mes: “To send forth a guarantee about your future.”
The guarantee about your future
If you know God’s promises.
If you understand God’s promises.
If you pursue God’s promises…
Then there is a than you are currently living.
Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV) “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
- “I will bring you out.”
God promises me .
Titus 3:3-8 (CSB) For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another. 4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, 5 he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life. 8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.
- “I will free you.”
God promises me .
Deliverance isn’t for people with .
Deliverance is for people who are still in their .
You’re a Christian, but your sin nature is still the process.
Romans 7:25-8:2 (CSB) So then, with my mind I myself am serving the law of God, but with my flesh, the law of sin. 8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, 2 because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.
- “I will redeem you.”
God promises me .
Ephesians 1:11-12 (CSB) In him we have also received an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of the one who works out everything in agreement with the purpose of his will, 12 so that we who had already put our hope in Christ might bring praise to his glory.
- “I will take you as my own people.”
God promises me .
In the final stage of God’s development in your life, He doesn’t make you a person, He makes you a “people”.
God never fulfills His best in a person by themselves. He always puts you in a . The . The .
You’ll never know how fulfilling life can be until you are a part of a team making an .
John 10:10 (CSB) A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.
