MY FIRST AND BEST
GOD FIRST – Part 2
Vernon Zook January 11, 2026
1. GOD EVERYTHING!
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it… – Psalm 24:1 (NLT)
“The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” – Haggai 2:8 (NLT)
2. WE ARE OF WHAT GOD OWNS.
The master said, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” – Matthew 25:23 (NLT)
3. MY ATTITUDE TOWARD REFLECTS MY .
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be… No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. – Matthew 6:19-21,24 (NLT)

4. PUTTING GOD FIRST IS BACK TO HIM.
The Bible calls this our “.”
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. – Proverbs 3:9–10 (NIV)
The best of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. – Exodus 23:19 (NIV)
If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy… – Romans 11:16 (NIV)
5. GOD CHALLENGES US TO BRING HIM OUR .
“I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed. Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have scorned my decrees and failed to obey them. Now return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “But you ask, ‘How can we return when we have never gone away?’ “Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’ “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. – Malachi 3:6-12 (NLT)
6. MY GENEROSITY IS HOW I PROVE MY IS REAL.
Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us – I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is… – 2 Corinthians 8:7-8 (NLT)
WHEN YOU GIVE BACK TO GOD YOUR FIRST AND YOUR BEST, HE TAKES CARE OF THE REST!
…but they gave themselves first to the Lord… – 2 Corinthians 8:5 (NLT)
