Sermon Outline for “I AM The Gate”

7Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the for the sheep. 8All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.  John 10:7-13

6Jesus answered, “I am the and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis 3:1-24

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to . Proverbs 14:12

18For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. 19It was the precious of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 1 Peter 1:18-19

19And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place of the blood of Jesus.20By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. 23Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:19-25

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. 5They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his .” John 10:1-7
