Significant Milestones in God’s Faithfulness to Cross & Crown Church through our Relocation to Arrowswest:
- 2012 Elders began praying about facility options and possible relocation because of space needs; began the “Bridge to the Future” fund, which is soon transitioned to Project: NEXT
- 2012 Project: NEXT capital campaign is launched with the goal to raise $1 Million
- 2015 (May 17) Membership votes overwhelmingly (95%) to adopt the Elders’ vision for relocation
- 2016 (October) Project: NEXT becomes Above and Beyond capital campaign with $350k already in the fund
- 2019 (December)Above and Beyond million-dollar goal reached
- 2021 Above and Beyond fund reaches $1.75 million
- 2021 (August 15) Congregation votes 90% in favor of selling Maizeland, purchasing Arrowswest, and borrowing up to $3.75M
- 2021 (September 24) Arrowswest property purchased for $3 million, one million below the original asking price; the property’s assessed value at that time was $4.85 million
- 2022 (February) Congregation votes overwhelmingly for Austin Bluffs Evangelical Free Church to become Cross & Crown Church (DBA)
- 2022 (July 1) Maizeland property sold to North Springs Alliance Church for $3.2 Million, and a six-month leaseback period begins
- 2022 (December 25) Final Sunday services at Maizeland property
- 2023 (January 1) services begin at Arrowswest
- 2023 (February) cost overruns for Arrowswest renovation require raising an additional $400,000. God provided the funds within three weeks, totaling $500,000.
- 2023 (August 6) A second service is launched at Arrowswest due to immediate growth by 200+ people
- 2023 (January) One million dollars of our debt of 3.75 million was paid off in our first full year at the Arrowswest property
- 2024 (August) Above & Beyond Progress Puzzle began with the goal of paying off the remaining 1.6 million of building debt by October 2026
- 2026 (January 4) Celebrated the $3.75 million construction debt payoff for the Arrowswest building renovation, on the third anniversary of our move-in, 10 months ahead of our payoff goal.
