FIRST GOD
GOD FIRST – Part 1

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. – Revelation 22:13
 
THE PREEMINENCE OF GOD:
 
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation  together. – Colossians 1:15-17 (NLT)
 
WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT GOD IS FIRST?
 
1. GOD WAS FIRST IN .
In the beginning, God… – Genesis 1:1a
Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. – Psalm 90:2 (NLT)
 
2. GOD WAS FIRST IN .
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. – Genesis 1:1
Everything was created through Him…and in Him all creation hold together. – Colossians 1:16-17
 
3. GOD WAS FIRST IN . 
(to Israel) For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure. – Deuteronomy 7:6 (NLT)
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. – Ephesians 1:4 (NLT)
4. GOD WAS FIRST IN .
We love because he first loved us. – 1 John 4:19 (NIV)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions… – Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)
 
5. GOD WAS FIRST IN .
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16 (NLT)
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. – Romans 5:8 (NLT)
Jesus replied, “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” – Matthew 22:37 (NLT)
 
I put God first in my life, by putting him first in the most important parts of my life!
