Christmas Series: Heaven Breaks In!
God doesn’t wait for perfect conditions—He steps right into the middle of real life. The birth of Jesus is Heaven’s announcement that God is closer than we think and moving more than we see.”
Review
Last Week: Identity Interrupted
Story of Mary: Gabriels Visit
- Very First Reason: Confirm to Mary’s who she really is!
Luke 1:28“Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
- Mary didn’t recognize this
- First Reaction: “Troubled” (deeply disturbed, shaken, wrecked)
- Says: “and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.”
- Why Troubled? Wasn’t feeling it!
- She didn’t realize: God always names you by your future, not your feelings, by your destiny, not your history, by your calling, not your current condition.
- God’s does the same thing today!

Middle of Silence: Gabriel “Your prayer has been heard.”
Small Faith: Zechariah: “How can I be sure? I am old.”
God wasn’t asking Zechariah about his ability — He was announcing He had arrived!
God doesn’t need perfect faith to move— He just needs you in the room when He speaks.
God always prepare us for “what’s next”

Last Week 1: Heaven breaks into your identity – Telling you who God says you are!
Wednesday: Heaven breaks into our silence: When you feel the most alone!
Today: Light Breaks Through!
Scientific Light Studies: Going on for Centuries!
Facts about Physical Light!
- It’s the fastest thing in the universe: 186,00 miles per second.
- Darkness can’t resist light: moment light appears, darkness disappears
- Light is electromagnetic energy: Has no physical matter.
- Light behaves as both a wave and a particle: (photon) at the same time — one of the mysteries of light.
- Light requires no medium: it can travel through empty space (a vacuum).
- Light reveals reality: objects become visible only when light reflects off them
- Light carries information: fiber-optic cables transmit internet data.
- Light bends: creating effects like rainbows or lenses.
- Light expands with the universe: it stretches
- Light powers life: photosynthesis converts sunlight into energy, producing oxygen for all living things.
- Light can be absorbed, reflected, scattered, or transmitted: Based on surface

Comparing Physical Light and God’s Light!
Science: Darkness isn’t a force — it’s just the absence of light. The moment light appears; darkness disappears.
God: Darkness is a force but when His light appears darkness loses it’s power.
Science: Light doesn’t create objects; it reveals what’s already there.
God: His light reveals by revelation letting you see what He’s been doing in the dark.
Science: Today, fiber optics allows your messages to be sent through light.
God: His light reveals His message as it relates to His presence in your life.
Science: Without sunlight, nothing grows.
God: Everything exists because His light brings life!
Science: Light behaves in ways hard to explain, but impossible to deny.
God: His light behaves in ways hard to explain, but with one touch it’s impossible to deny.
Light is the fastest thing in the universe, the oldest thing in the universe, the most informative thing in the universe, and the very thing that makes life possible. And God uses His light to explain His presence, His truth, and His power.
Physical light breaks physical darkness instantly — it doesn’t argue with darkness. God’s light breaks spiritual darkness the same way — it simply wins the moment it appears

Scientific light reveals what’s already there but God’s light changes what use to be there!
What’s it Mean?
Scientists study physical light to understand the universe. God sends spiritual light to help us understand Him.
But Darkness is real and recognized by God.
Isaiah says: 700 years earlier!
“The people walking in darkness…”
Isaiah describes a nation living in:
• spiritual darkness — no revelation
• emotional darkness — discouragement
• circumstantial darkness — oppression
• internal darkness — fear, despair, confusion
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
Darkness is not just the absence of light; it’s the absence of clarity, confidence, security, direction. It’s the place where you can’t see what God is doing, can’t see where you’re going, can’t see how anything is going to change.
“they have seen a great light”
- Not a small light, not a flicker, A great light –
- Heaven breaking through human darkness.
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)
Isaiah 9:6-8 (NIV)
“Isaiah spoke this prophecy into a nation drowning in darkness—politically crushed, spiritually confused, emotionally defeated. Assyria had invaded, King Ahaz had failed, and fear filled every home. But into that darkness, God made a promise: ‘A great light is coming.’ And 700 years later, Jesus stepped into the very regions Isaiah named!
“in deep darkness a light has dawned.”
- The place of the most darkness saw the first light.
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
Darkness in Scripture
- disorientation, uncertainty, hopelessness, moral fog.
Truth: God is not surprised by your darkness. He names it, sees it, and steps into it.
Darkness is the place Heaven plans to break into!
700 years after: “a light has dawned.” God Delivers!
Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)
Light Breaks Through Before You’re Ready!
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)
Shepherds
- Not seeking God, not praying, not expecting a revelation
- just working a night shift
- Light came to people not looking for it.
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
Luke 2:9 (NIV)
God’s light doesn’t wait for your readiness; His presence creates your readiness.
God’s light reveals what darkness hides!
Q) Remember Apostle Paul?
Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)
Things the enemy is trying to hide in your darkness:
- Your purpose: what am I here for?
- Purpose in a season: Your next steps!
- Your value!
God’s Light exposes:
- Truth, identity, direction, God’s presence…
- What God has been doing all along
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
God’s light is not Him doing something new —it’s Him letting you see what He’s already been doing.
The shepherds didn’t gain new information they gained new illumination.
God’s light is seeing what He’s already been doing in the dark.
Light Always Delivers Good News in the Face of Fear!
Luke 2:10
- Shepherds’ first reaction to the light was fear.
- Light didn’t immediately bring joy — it brought disruption.
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
Fear says: “I don’t know what’s coming.”
Light says: “Let me show you who is coming.”
Example: Health issues in church!
- Collapse Wednesday Evening
- Other multiple Health diagnosis this past week
Our people’s first reaction: Fearful.
Shepherds’ first reaction: Fearful.
God doesn’t speak our fear with a rebuke; He speaks to our fear with good news.
Fear is what we feel before Heaven breaks in —joy is what we feel after.
- Joy replaces fear. Peace replaces panic. Hope replaces heaviness.
Light Also Reveals Jesus at the center of your story!
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
Luke 2:11 (NIV)
The angels weren’t announcing a moment —they were announcing a Messiah.
The point isn’t the light. The point is the One the light reveals. Light does not just shine around you — it leads you to Jesus.
God’s Light Changes Your Path Forward!
When God’s light breaks in, it changes:
- Where you go.
- How you see
- What you pursue
- Who you follow
- What you value
- How you proceed
(MULTILINE REVEAL SMALL)
For the Shepards
Luke 2:15 (NIV)
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
- Shepherds’ direction changed the moment light broke through.
Light transitions a passive nature to an active nature.
Why?
Revelation without movement is just admiration. Revelation with movement becomes transformation.
Darkness doesn’t have to be defeated — it just has to be replaced. Darkness only feels powerful until someone turns a light on.
