WHEN HEAVEN CAME DOWN
CHRISTMAS – A FRESH PERSPECTIVE–Part 1

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him… 9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. 12But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 14 So the Word became human and made his home among us… John 1:1-14 (NLT)
CHRISTMAS FROM HEAVEN’S PERSPECTIVE:
1. CHRISTMAS WAS A PART OF GOD’S .
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. John 1:1-2
What was Jesus’ Purpose for coming to earth?
…you were bought with the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake. 1 Peter 1:19-20 (NLT)
2. CHRISTMAS BROUGHT INTO THIS DARK WORLD. 
The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. John 1:9
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. Isaiah 9:2 (NLT)
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them… Luke 2:9 (NIV)
 
3. CHRISTMAS WAS THE OF PROPHECY.
…All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet… Matthew 1:22 (NLT)
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel. Matthew 2:6 (NLT)
And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel. Genesis 3:15 (NLT) 
4. CHRISTMAS WAS THE OF GOD TO US.
Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ Matthew 1:23 (NLT)
So the Word became human and made his home among us… John 1:14
Though he was God…he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. Philippians 2:6-7 (NLT)
How could this all happen?
Nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37 (NIV)
5. CHRISTMAS IS THE GREATEST EVER TOLD. 
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NLT)
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9 (NLT)
But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. Galatians 4:4-5 (NLT)
