WEEK 46

SCRIPTURE

(Highlighted story of the week)

Continue loving each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Hebrews 13:1

OBSERVATION

(What is this scripture saying?)

The scripture is encouraging the church to keep loving each other like brothers and sisters. Loving someone like family is a deeper kind of love that’s forgiving, kind, keeps no record of wrongs, puts others first, and continues loving even when it gets hard.

APPLICATION

(How can I apply this scripture to my life?)

Parents, tell your child(ren):

What does it look like to show each other love at home, at school, and in our community?

Ages 4-6:

Draw a picture of what it means to love others like a brother or sister.

Ages 7-9:

Write or share with your grownup 1 or 2 things you could do to show your love for a friend, family member, or neighbor.

PRAYER

(Parents: Have your child repeat this prayer or pray/write their own prayer.)

“Dear God, we love You because You first loved us! Lord, help us to love in the way that You would love a brother or sister. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen!”

Ages 10+

Hebrews 13:1-25; Psalm 115:1-18; Proverbs 27:21-22
