Phil 1:15-18

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill… 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely…18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

Yes, and I will continue to rejoice…

Jesus is the only hope this generation has.

How to grow heaven and shrink hell:

If your life has truly been by Jesus it is literally to tell your story without sharing the story of Jesus.

1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

A biblical portrait of a “fool”:

A fool says and lives like there is no God. – Ps 14:1, 53:1

A fool despises and rejects the teachings of God. – 1 Sam 13:13, Prov 1:7

A fool doesn’t listen to godly advice. – Prov 12:15

A fool loves airing their own opinions. – Prov 18:12 (Social Media)

A fool is wise in their own eyes and walks in darkness. – Prov 26:12, Ecles 2:14

A fool hears the words of Jesus and doesn’t put them into practice. – Matt 7:26

A fool is not prepared for the Lord’s return. – Mt 25:2

A fool only lives for this world. – 1 Tim 6:9

A fools life is marked by rebellion and suffering – Psalm 107:17-22

Psalm 107:17-18 – This is who I was.

17 Some became fools through their rebellious ways
and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
18 They loathed all food
and drew near the gates of death.

MSG – Psalm 107:17-18

Some of you were sick because you’d lived a bad life,
your bodies feeling the effects of your sin;
You couldn’t stand the sight of food,
so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead.

Sin = Suffering

Sin ≠ Blessing

__

To reject God’s wisdom and instructions leads only to futility, disobedience, self-deception and ultimately death.

__

Psalm 107:18 – MSG

“…so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead.”

__

Sin will take you farther than you want to go,

it will keep you longer than you want to stay,

and will cost you more than you want to pay.

__

There was a man who dug a pit,

At times he would rest and in that pit he would sit.

It wasn’t long before he became its slave,

Not realizing he was actually digging his own grave.

Ps 107:19-20 – This is what happened.

19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble…

20 He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.

The grave = A living hell.

__

We are saved from a living to a living .

__

When you are pulled from a living hell you will be filled with a heavenly joy.

__

Ps 107:21-22 – This is who I am now.

21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings
and tell of his works with songs of joy.
