Mark 16:15-20 NLT – 15And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” 19When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 20And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
- Are there signs and wonders for today too? Or have they ceased?
- Does God still perform miracles today too? If YES then why are we not seeing them?
- What is stopping God to perform miracles TODAY?
- What can I do to be able to see them again?
Let’s start with:
These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe:
Why BELIEVE? Why not PASTORS? or Church LEADERS? or the SPIRITUAL GIFTED PEOPLE?
– Is that simple?- those who believe!
- READ Mark 9:19-24
- READ James 1:6-8
- READ 1 John 2:15-17
- READ Mark 4:39-40
- WHEN YOU BELIEVE, YOUR LIFESTYLE CHANGES
- KEEP CONTINUING TO BELIEVE
Let’s look into Jesus’ personal life:
PRAYER – intimacy with GOD
- You can’t offer things you didn’t receive!
- “When you spend more time with GOD you will spend less time with the people’s problems”
FASTING – A sacrificial exchange
- Jesus taught that fasting is a way to get closer to God and is an act of sacrifice, not a way to gain public approval. Jesus also taught that fasting should be done in secret, so that only God can see it.
- PRAYER AND FAST GOES HAND IN HAND
STUDYING THE SCRIPTURES – The LOGOS has to become RHEMA
- John 5: 39-44
- The ANTIOCH CHURCH was Worshiping, Praying and Fasting too:
Acts 13:1-3 1Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man”), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul. 2One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” 3So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.
