Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 5:1-8

Manage your “family” well, as the Manager to GOD who is THE manager, owner, president!

Do it as you act on the ideas of and .

Timothy, be an example:

treat older men like your own dad

treat older women like your own

treat younger men like your own brothers

treat younger women like your own sisters

And provide what they truly .

Provide what? ment

Provide how?

“Family” relationships often fail because when:

  • Little aren’t healthily dealt with
  • Unrealistic are harbored
  • Won’t self via the Holy Spirit of Jesus

of the SPIRIT: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Goodness, and SELF-CONTROL

Manage your “family” well, providing what they “”:  Cherish them, and Discipline yourself!

DISCUSSION:

  1. How have little offenses ever built up, in my life or someone’s I’ve seen, such that it hurt the relationship with someone else?
  2. What unrealistic expectations have ever been put on me? What ones have I put on other people?
  3. How has a lack of discipline in some area of my life hurt a relationship I have with someone in my biological family, or my church family?
  4. How would Jesus like to forgive me and help me to grow in any of these areas?

PRAY for that…and pray that God’s Holy Spirit will help you to see how to believe, trust, and act to grow in that area!
