But for us, there is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live. – 1 Corinthians 8:6 (NLT)

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GOD:

1. God is God, and .

… (God) For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me. Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other. – Isaiah 45:21-22 (NLT)

2. God is – in control.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. – Colossians 1:15-17 (NLT)

Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?… Who is able to advise the Spirit of the LORD? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him? – Isaiah 40:12-13 (NLT)

Here’s what He does:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. – Romans 8:28 (NLT)

3. God is – all powerful.

O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you! – Jeremiah 32:17 (NLT)

Nothing is impossible for God!

4. God is – all knowing.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? – Romans 11:33-34 (NLT)

(God) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways…” – Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)

Because of Whom God is, we know that…

… He is much than I am.

… He does He wants.

Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. – Psalm 115:3 (NIV)

… God is !

You are good and do only good… – Psalm 119:68 (NLT)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

… God is .

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16 (NIV)
