The Battle Is the Lord’s

Esther 9:1-17

God turned the day of destruction into a day of deliverance.

• prepared the way for the day of battle.
  • of the Jews spread throughout the empire.
  • Mordecai’s reputation had grown so that government leaders helped.
• On the appointed day, the Jews soundly their enemies.
  • 75,000 people were killed throughout the empire.
  • The Jews in Susa were given an day to attack their enemies (500/300 killed).
  • None of the Jews took plunder from their enemies.

God is ready to help us during the battles of life, Ephesians 6:10-20.

• God will everything we need to face any attack, v. 10.
• The battles of life that truly matter are battles, v. 12.
• There are two primary ways to prepare for spiritual warfare.
  • Walk closely with God in a growing , v. 13.
    • Keep the focus on God, not the circumstances or enemy.

    • Pray for yourself and for others, vv. 18-19.

Here are a few simple truths to remember and live by.

• the power of the Holy Spirit as He works in and through you, 1 John 4:4.
• Don’t rely on your own abilities but look to God for , Proverbs 3:5-6.
• Don’t give up! Trust God to know what He’s doing, Galatians 6:9.
