I Love you, You're my Family!

At The Table

June 29, 2025   /   Andre Anderson   /   Winston Salem First Assembly

Start With the Clean Out

• Fat and grease build-up creates dirty smoke and fire risk
• Hidden sin, bitterness, and secret habits do the same to our lives
• If you do not deal with what is collecting under the surface, your entire life will start to taste like it

• Psalm 139:23-24 — “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”

• Proverbs 28:13 — “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.”

• Hebrews 12:1 — “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

Set the Table, Set the Standard

•Your prayers build walls of protection in your family

• Stop grumbling about your assignment; God placed you there to shift the atmosphere

• Psalm 23:5 — “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”

• James 5:16 — “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

• Deuteronomy 6:5-7 — “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”

Set the standard at home and watch the feast overflow.

Make Them a Plate

• When you cook, the whole block knows
• When God works in your life, people notice
• Stop saying “I’ll pray for you”. PRAY RIGHT NOW
• Do not wait for a stage or permission
• God sets the table in front of enemies, He didn’t say they couldn’t get a plate.

• Matthew 5:14-16 — “You are the light of the world, like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
• Romans 12:13 — “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
• Luke 14:13 — “Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.”
• Psalm 34:8 — “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him.”

Live so full of the smoke that neighbors come running for a plate.

Hospitality becomes your witness.

Transition
Clean pit, overflowing table, open hands. That is the recipe for Life Change

  1. Clean Your Life Up
Ask God to show you what you’ve let build up. Bitterness, hidden sin, secret habits. Don’t wait for the fire to break out. Clean it now.

  2. Protect Your House
Pray over your family by name. Anoint the doors. Kick out anything that doesn’t belong. Stop complaining about your workplace and start commanding the spiritual atmosphere there.

  3. Live With Open Hands
Let your life smell like you’ve been near the fire of God. Be light. Be bold. Be ready. Pray on the spot. Invite people in. Make them a plate.
