Rahab: A Faith Not Held Back By Fear

A fear of the unknown can keep us from taking a step of faith. We can get entangled in the what-ifs. Fear of what could or couldn’t be can paralyze us. We see a different posture with Rahab. There was a lot that could have gone wrong and a lot that Rahab could have lost. Nevertheless, she chose the difficult pathway because she had faith that God would continue to be true to His nature. Fear and faith are two paths that lead to two different outcomes, and Rahab chose faith. We’re given the same choice.

The Point: Faith when others are paralyzed by fear.

Read Joshua 2:1-4

Read Joshua 2:8-14

Faith acts even in the face of .

Read Joshua 2:22-25

Rahab’s story resonates with our hearts because fear is a very real and often paralyzing obstacle. Yet, we see the least likely of people combat fear with her faith. Rahab walked the road less traveled; despite all the obstacles and roadblocks, she did not succumb to fear.
