Text:

Matthew 10:26-33 “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

Message:

Four Fears:

  1. Fear of

Matthew 10:26-27 “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

Matthew 10:26 says, “So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.”

Romans 12:19 “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Psalm 18:2 “. . . the Lord is your deliverer, He is your shield and your salvation.”

Proverbs 15:3 ESV The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

Hebrews 4:13 ESV And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Job 28:24 ESV For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.

Jeremiah 23:24 ESV Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

Don’t be afraid of what is hidden. Don’t be afraid of what you are hiding. Take it to God and expose it in prayer.

King David

Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”

Don’t be afraid of what is hidden, but embrace the light of God

  1. Fear of

Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Philippians 1:21 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Do not fear what man can do, because they cannot take away your eternity. We ought to fear God who not only gives us life, but life everlasting. All the more reason we should turn to Him in the light and not be afraid of what is hidden.

  1. Fear of

Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

The fear of our worth stems from one thing. This thing eats us from the inside out. It rots relationships and progress. This thing that makes us fear our worth is Insecurity.

Facts help us overcome insecurity. Removing the emotional lens from our situations, which the devils loves to use to lead us astray, will help us stay on the path God has for us.

Matthew 10:29“ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?” Sparrows were a cheap, kosher food for the Jews. Yes, you could go into any market and see that they were being sold. Of course they were being sold two for a penny.

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who ever believes in Him, shall not perish but have Eternal Life.”

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

  1. Fear of

Matthew 10:32-33 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

All these other fears are meant to pull us away from God. The Fear of The Father draws us closer to God.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Psalm 111:10 “The Fear of the Lord that is the beginning of all wisdom.”

John 10:28-29 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Proverbs 15:3 ESV The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

1 John 4:18 “Perfect love casts out all fear.”

Revelation 12:11 And they have conquered (Triumphed NIV) (Overcome KJV) him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
