Small Group Questions

What do you think?

From Sunday’s message, what struck a chord with you, challenged you, or raised a question for you?(MULTILINE)

The story of your life.

  1. On Sunday, Pastor Kyle talked about the “it factor” that some people have that draws others in with the power of God. Share a time when you were drawn closer to God by someone else’s spiritual gifting.(MULTILINE)
  2. Arguably, on some level, all of us have some type of “it factor” where we shine and are at our best. Where do you think you personally shine, are at your best, and are the biggest blessing to others around you? (MULTILINE)

Digging deeper in God’s Word.

  1. Jesus undeniably had “it.” The best verse to sum up Jesus’ “It Factor” is found in Matthew 7:28-29. Read it together and respond to the following prompts/questions.
    1. Obviously, we’re not Jesus but to what extent do you think Christians tap into God’s power like Him?(MULTILINE)
    2. How should that inspire us to change our everyday lives?(MULTILINE)
  2. When Christ spoke, thousands showed up. People would not leave even after listening to him speak all day with no breaks outside. One great example of this is the story of the feeding of the 5000. Read the Mark account in Mark 6:30-44 and answer the following prompts/questions.
    1. Have a few members of the group recap the story using their own words.(MULTILINE)
    2. What does this story tell us about God? People? How to continue to press on even when exhausted?(MULTILINE)
  3. Pastor Kyle talked about having “holy fear(awe, reverence)” In Isaiah 6:1-5, the prophet Isaiah has a vision of God on His throne. Isaiah’s immediate reaction is one of awe and reverence, acknowledging God’s holiness and his own unworthiness. Read the text together and answer the following prompts.
    1. How does having a healthy fear of the Lord impact the way we live our daily lives? (MULTILINE)
    2. How can we cultivate that same awe and reverence for God today?(MULTILINE)
    3. What does this text say about God, People, and Yourself?(MULTILINE)
  4. The story of the Sons of Sceva which we covered on Sunday led to a wide spread repentance of many believers in Ephesus as they burned their sorcery scrolls (Acts 19:18-19). Read the following verse and share what the holy spirit highlights to you from them.
    1. 2 Chronicles 7:14.
    2. Joel 2:12-13.
    3. 1 John 1:9.
    4. 2 Peter 3:9.
    5. Isaiah 55:6-7.
    6. Proverbs 28:13.

Personal reflection and application.

  1. Have everyone share one thing someone else said in this discussion that struck a chord with you.(MULTILINE)
  2. Pray for one another (preferably men with men and women with women).(MULTILINE)
