A study in Ephesians
Chapters 1-3 is what Jesus has done for us.
Chapters 4-6 is how we should live in response to what he has done.
(Habakkuk 2:2) God gives the prophet vision for God’s people the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
(Ephesians 1:15-17) Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
(Proverbs 1:8) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(James 1:5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
1. In this family,
Everything changes when you get to know God
- Understand his grace and mercy
- Understand his love He has for us
- Understand the good gifts He has for His children
(2 Peter 3:18) grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
(John 15:5) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
(Galatians 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
2. In this family,
(Ephesians 1:18) I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance
(Galatians 5:1) For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
3. In this family,
(Ephesians 1:19-20) I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…
(2 Timothy 1:7) For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
4. In this family,
(Ephesians 1:21-22) Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
(Philippians 2:9) Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names
