Jesus Over Being Stuck

(Acts 3:1-3 NLT) Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.

1. No ordinary

(Acts 3:1 NLT) Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.

(Psalm 122:1 NLT) I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

2. No

(Acts 3:2 NLT) As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.

3. No of your future with God

(Acts 3:3 NLT) When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.

(Acts 3:4-6 NLT) Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”

4. No “I can do this

(Acts 3:7 NLT) Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.

(Acts 3:8 NLT) He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.

✓ Baptism is our first step of obedience

(Matthew 28:19 NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 2:37-38 NLT) Peter preaches the gospel to a crowd of people 37 Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

✓ Baptism means “I have decided to follow Jesus”

(Galatians 3:27 NLT) And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.

✓ Baptism means “I am cleansed of my sins because of the name of Jesus ”

(Acts 4:12) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

(Acts 22:16) And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

5. No

(Acts 3:8-9 NLT) 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. 9 All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. 10 When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!
