Happy Mother’s Day!! May 12, 2024
We each have a story to tell of God’s love because he GAVE!
“I am convinced that a prayerful, compassionate, Sprit-filled church is the key to bringing deliverance and hope to those who are caught up in___”.

Jesus Commanded Us to Love
Matthew 22:37 (NIV)
“Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Matthew 22:39 (NIV)
“… And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself.”

We Love Because He First Loved Us
John 13:34-5 (NKJV)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Love Rejoices in Truth and Truth Produces Freedom
1 Corinthians 13:6 (NIV)
“Love does not delight in evil (wrongdoing/wrong thinking) but rejoices in the truth.”
Colossians 2:8 (NLT)
“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that came from human thinking and the spiritual powers of this world rather than from Christ.”
God’s holiness, his desire for purity, and his will and standard as revealed in scripture must never be compromised in our practice of love for all people.
People bound in religion repent for breaking the rules. People walking in love repent for breaking their father’s heart. Truth spoken in love leads to repentance, forgiveness, and freedom.

How Do We Love Like Jesus?
Christ-followers should demonstrate good manners. Be aware of what you do, what you say, and how you say it!
We may disagree at times but it’s HOW we disagree that defines our relationships!
Strive to encourage ALL whom you encounter. Leave people better than you found them.
I Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)
“Encourage each other and build each other up.”
Yes, Jesus hung out with prostitutes, drunkards, and outcasts. Here’s the thing though, by the time Jesus was finished hanging out with them, they weren’t prostitutes or drunkards or outcasts anymore. Jesus came to transform people, not indulge them. Being a Christ-follower is about surrender, not comfort. We are to align ourselves to his standard, and not the other way around.
Don’t ever underestimate the IMPACT you can have on other people.

Love Them With an URGENCY!
Matthew 13: 49-50 (NIV)
“So will it be at the end of the age: The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous, and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
In everything you do, remember you are doing it unto God and not man.
2 Corinthians 5:9 (NIV)
“My ambition is to please the Lord.”
“You’re not too small for big things, and you’re not too big for small things.” – Susie Larson
