CHILDREN
How do you honor your parents?
Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-4 NLT
“Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord…” Colossians 3:20 NLT
Obeying your parents is the right thing to do and it pleases the Lord!
A good name is more desirable than great riches.. Proverbs 22:1 NIV

A few thoughts to remember from God to you…
Listen to your father; without him you would not exist. Proverbs 23:22 GNT
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23 NLT
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13 NLT
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. 28 If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.” Proverbs 3:27-28 NLT
Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” 27 And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home. John 19:25-27 NLT

PARENTS
How do you raise your kids?
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 NLT
Don’t treat your kids in a crummy way.
Discipline them when needed, and help them to understand and live out the Scriptures.
“It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin. 3 So watch yourselves!” Luke 17:2-3 NLT
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15 NIV1984
Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death. Proverbs 23:13-14 NIV1984
Listen, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. 5 And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 NLT
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT
Whoever does not care for his own relatives, especially his own family members, has turned against the faith and is worse than someone who does not believe in God. I Timothy 5:8 NCV
